Do you suffer from "Christian fatigue syndrome?" We've all experienced it - that natural tendency to push harder, work longer, and strive more - which often means less time in communion with God.

Learn about a better way to arrange your life and receive God's transforming presence at the 2012 Salem Alliance Women's Retreat Jan. 20 - 22 on the beautiful Oregon coast!

We promise a weekend of fellowship, good food and fun at the Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center. You'll experience corporate worship times as well as breakout sessions, time in prayer, special activities and lots of free time to relax and enjoy fellowship with other women. You'll return refreshed physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Spiritual disciplines are concrete practices that can help us find 'more' of God and receive His transforming presence amidst our busy lives. In Christian tradition, these principles are structured spiritual practices that provide practical guidance for entering into the central disciplines of the Christian faith. Simply put, these disciplines provide structure and space for us to grow in God.

At the 2012 retreat, we'll learn about seven basic spiritual disciplines:
  • Solitude
  • Scripture
  • Prayer
  • Honoring the body
  • Self-examination
  • Discernment
  • Spiritual Friendships
By studying these seven principles, we will have the building blocks we need to create spiritual transformation and draw close to Him.

We're shaking things up this year! Instead of featuring one speaker all weekend, there will be workshops led by six different gifted and Godly speakers as well as general sessions where we'll worship together as one group.

Workshop Sessions
We'll have general sessions Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday morning as usual. We'll learn about one of the spiritual principles in the Friday general session.

We'll learn about the remaining five disciplines in the individual workshops each hosted by a different speaker. We'll study the final principle individually during quiet time Saturday evening.

In each workshop, you'll get an overview of one of the principles and be able to practice it so you can incorporate it into your everyday life.

You'll get practical guidance for entering into central disciplines of the Christian faith so God can show you the most consistent and compelling desires of your heart.

Workshop Leaders
This year we’re delighted to have six women leading us in individual workshops. Here are our leaders and what they will be teaching us.
Rebecca Anderson –Discovering new perspectives on prayer and connecting with God.
Jamie Boda – Prayerfully engaging in Scripture in order to hear God’s personal word to you through the practice of Lectio Divina.
Kara Brown – Learning how honoring our flesh-and-blood body can play a vital role in our spiritual development.
Allison Collingwood – Discussing how to develop and sustain spiritual friendships.
Trina Fowler – Developing a listening ear to better hear and recognize God’s voice
Jennifer Roth – Teaching large group sessions on healthy ways of self-examination, as well as how we put all this together in real life, real world time.

Putting the Principles Together, into Practice
On Sunday morning, women's ministry pastor Jennifer Roth will lead us in a general session on putting all seven spiritual disciplines together in a way that works for you. Then you'll be ready to go home and begin cultivating your own rhythm of spiritual practices so you grow in intimacy with God.
