As a specialty coffee shop, we work hard to put our best foot forward when it comes to the coffee we serve. We’re born out of the “third wave” of coffee that values ethical coffee purchasing, light and medium roasts, an emphasis on barista skill, and a simpler menu that spotlights the coffee itself through more traditional drinks. Our menu caters to all tastes, but our wheelhouse is coffee-forward drinks.
In addition to the drinks and pastries we serve, we sell whole bean coffee in our shop, roasted weekly by our partners, as well as high-quality tea and matcha.
Coava (pronounced ‘kovuh’) is based out of Portland, OR. They roast our signature blend, the 1300 Blend, so named due to both our addresses being 1300.
Dapper & Wise roast coffee in Hillsboro. We love their wonderful, fun, curated coffee offerings that we feature on Single Origin espresso and our Pour Over bar.
Located in Salem, Archive is our newest partner roaster. They are focused on quality single origins roasted just a few miles down the road.
Steven Smith Teamaker is based in Portland, OR. They specialize in top shelf, masterfully blended teas. We love using their world class ingredients in our in-house specialty drinks.
Dough Hook Bake Shop in Salem and Corvallis specializes in doughnuts and croissants. Their pastries are made fresh and delivered daily.
Our shop is spacious and brightly lit with two stories of seating. We have lots of different areas: the urban bar facing Broadway street, the open area with tables, the sunroom with counters and lots of plugins, our beautiful patio, the community tables by the fireplace, and soft seating on the mezzanine and under the stairway. Whether you’re meeting a friend or colleague, trying to study for a test, or do some reading with a cup of coffee, there’s a spot designed with you in mind.
In a time where “third spaces”, or gathering places other than home and work, are often hard to come by, Broadway has been a living room and a community space since we opened in 2010. We love to vibrant cross-section of our community that comes through our doors every day, and make it our aim to be great hosts.
Parking is available in the connected lot outside the Broadway Commons building, with access through 5th St. and Hood St. There is also additional parking in the gravel lot on the corner of 5th and Gaines.
We offer three complimentary meeting rooms with the purchase of a beverage. The rooms seat a max of eight people, and are located on the mezzanine that overlooks the main coffee house space — look for the mural. You can reserve these online using the button below. A purchase of a drink or pastry from the Coffeehouse is required to use the conference rooms.
A brand new venture opening in April 2024 the Tabletop Loft is our designated gaming room located on the second floor. The Loft hosts a growing collection of tabletop board games for players of all interests and skill levels. In addition to our normal open play times we host weekly meetups on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Learn more and rsvp for a meetup below!
We are a team of professional baristas. Specialty coffee places a premium on barista skill, so it’s important to us that we keep our skills sharp and know not only how to make delicious coffee, but where it comes from and how to bring the best out of it. We dial in a new Single Origin coffee each week, and our team interacts with and tastes the coffee to make sure it’s tasting great.
As anyone who has worked in specialty coffee knows, there’s always more to learn, and we’d love learn with you, either through a drink or a conversation. Our team has all been trained by both our own internal trainers and the coffee educators at Coava Roasters in Portland, so if you’re wanting to get a second opinion about a bag of coffee to purchase or a new drink to try, don’t be afraid to ask!
If you want to work with us, fill out the short form at the link below and email us your resume! Even if we aren’t hiring currently, we keep resumes on file and refer to them when we are. We look forward to hearing from you!
